Pat Lakey graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of
Science Degree in Individual and Family Studies. She has completed numerous
graduate level courses specific to her certifications: Certified Rehabilitation
Counselor (CRC) and Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE). Pat was the Director
of Vocational Services for over 18 years at Easter Seals of Southwest Florida.
Her experience working with adolescents and adults with disabilities includes
assistive technology, adaptive equipment and comprehensive rehabilitation
service planning. Pat has extensive knowledge of community resources for
individuals with disabilities.
Pat transitioned to the field of higher education in the Spring of 2005. She has
served as the Coordinator of Diversity Services spearheading programs for
Hispanic Heritage, Black History Month, LBGT Safe Zone, cultural displays and
celebrations, film series and other educational/training seminars. Pat serves as
the coordinator of all special needs services for students and guests at
commencement. In addition, she has been an active member of the Events
Committee, University Feel Committee and Veteran’s Committee.
