Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) - From the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the OOH provides detailed information on 250 occupations. Each listing addresses the employment outlook, job duties, earnings, working conditions, training, education, and associations related to the field. On the association websites, you can find more information about the profession and often times they have a job bank.
It is important to gain occupational information and trends within an industry because it can make a difference in job growth and salaries. Click on the Industry link to gather information about the industry.
Occupational Outlook Quarterly (OOQ)- From the Bureau of Labor Statistics features projections of long-term job growth and employment prospects for nearly 300 occupations. This special issue of the OOQ includes a table summarizing that information so readers can compare occupations at a glance.
Occupational Info Network (ONET) - In addition to providing occupational data and research, ONET will assist you in exploring careers using a skill or tool and will crosswalk careers from the military into civilian careers. **Note review the work values, the skills, and the interest sections to compare them with your career assessment.
