Superintendents to be presented with “Commitment to Education” award during meeting at USF Sarasota-Manatee to
discuss educational challenges
SARASOTA, FL (April 3, 2009) – On Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Phi Delta Kappa (PDK), the Professional Association in Education, will hold a meeting and present the “2009 Commitment to Education Award” to Manatee and Sarasota Public Schools’ Superintendents Tim McGonegal and Lori White.
The meeting, entitled “A Historical Perspective and the Challenges of Education Today,” will be hosted by Dr. Richard King, Associate Dean of Education at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, and will be held in Room C203 on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Challenges facing the two school districts will be addressed by Superintendents.
The local PDK chapter includes faculty and administrators of school districts as well as faculty administrators and education majors from USF Sarasota-Manatee and Keiser University.
All public school administrators, teachers, support personnel, and students of education are invited to attend the breakfast meeting. New membership information and applications will be available at the meeting.
