USF Sarasota-Manatee Education students to get on-the-job experience with opening of new professional development school

USF
Sarasota-Manatee Assistant Professor Dr. Marie Byrd-Blake applies a USF Bulls temporary tattoo to a student’s
hand at G.D. Rogers Garden Elementary School’s orientation session. The “green” elementary school is a
professional development school for the local university, and the Bulls have a big presence on campus.
Elementary Education students from USF Sarasota-Manatee’s College of Education perform internships at the
elementary and sponsor the Junior Master Gardeners program, along with Turner Tree and Landscape and W.G.
Mills, Inc. Classes at G.D. Rogers Garden Elementary started Monday, Aug. 24.
