Who can use math and statistics tutoring?

Math and statistics tutoring is open to all students who are currently enrolled in either a traditional class or online at USF Sarasota-Manatee and USF Sarasota-Manatee at North Port. USF students who are enrolled only at the Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Lakeland are encouraged to contact the tutoring services on those campuses. We are happy to work with students from all disciplines on any math skills and any math related courses.

How does a student make a tutoring appointment?

Appointments are not necessary for math tutoring and drop-ins are welcome during regularly scheduled tutoring hours. However, students who want to reserve a time for a 1-on-1 session with a tutor or schedule an on-line (Skype) session, should email sar-tutoring@usf.edu or call (941)359-4225 to schedule a math tutoring appointment.

At this time, weekend appointments are not available.

How should I prepare for a tutoring session?

If you prefer 1-on-1 sessions or on-line (Skype) sessions, we recommend making your appointment early in the semester. This will ensure that you get an appointment and that you will have time for a return visit if you need additional help. Please see the list below to prepare for your appointment:

  • Bring a copy of the assignment or instructions
  • Be prepared to describe one or two of your main concerns about your math skills
