Graduate Admissions

Admission to USF Sarasota-Manatee is competitive based on a variety of factors. These may include an applicant's undergraduate grade-point average, standardized test scores such as the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), letters of recommendation, and samples of academic work. Each graduate program sets the criteria for measuring the potential for success.

Contact the desired program early in the admissions process. Prospective students should ascertain both that they are eligible for admission and that the program fits their academic needs.

Applicants who want to apply to more than one graduate program must submit an additional application, application fee, and any required departmental documents.

Graduate Admissions Requirements

Each applicant to a graduate program at USF Sarasota-Manatee is required to meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. An applicant must have one of the following:
    1. A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (For GPA requirements, see program-specific pages listed below).
    2. A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a previous graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    3. The equivalent bachelor’s and/or graduate degrees from a foreign institution.
  2. Submission of standardized test scores is at the discretion of the graduate program. Applicants from countries where English is not the official language must also demonstrate proficiency in English by providing acceptable scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Lang Testing System (IELTS). The College/School Dean must approve any exceptions to these requirements

Graduate Admissions Checklist

  • Complete the Graduate application
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee ($30)
  • Submit an official transcript showing the bachelor's or significant progress toward completion of the bachelor's degree. Applicants that recieved their bachelor's degree from USF are not required to submit a transcript. All transcripts must be in English. See the International Admissions page for a list of approved translation services.
  • Submit the Student Immunization and Medical History Form
  • Request that the testing agency for the GRE or GMAT send scores directly to the Office of Admissions.
  • Sign-in to OASIS to monitor your admission status.
