Dr. Tary Wallace is an Assistant Professor of Measurement
and Research in the College of Education at the University of
South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus. Dr. Wallace earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in Special and Elementary Education
from the University of North Dakota; a Master of Science degree
in Early Childhood Special Needs, and a Ph.D. in Measurement and
Research from the University of South Florida. She taught in a
public school exceptional student education program in North
Dakota and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia, South
America early in her career. Dr. Wallace also taught in the
early childhood special needs context for Easter Seals in Tampa,
Florida. Upon earning the Ph.D. in 2002 she taught at the
University of Central Florida in the Department of Research,
Technology, and Leadership. Her research interest here at USF is
in the area of applied classroom assessment, specifically,
issues that affect student achievement and motivation in higher
education. She teaches courses in measurement and research at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Wallace is a
member of professional organizations related to research and
teaching such as Florida Educational Research Association, the
American Educational Research Association, and National Council
on Measurement in Education.
