Curriculum Vitae
Ms. Kyna Betancourt is a Visiting Instructor of Communication Sciences &
Disorders at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee. She is also a
doctoral candidate in the Communication Sciences & Disorders department at USF
Tampa and a fellow in the Doctoral Leadership Institute. (more...)
Ms. Betancourt
received her MS in Clinical Linguistics through the Erasmus Mundus program in
Europe. She also received her MS in speech-pathology from USF in 2010 and her
ASHA CCC’s in 2011. She is currently working on her dissertation in the area of
child bilingual word acquisition.
Ms. Betancourt’s research interests include
child bilingual word learning, phonotactics, and statistical learning. Ms.
Betancourt hopes to continue researching in this field to develop a working
model of bilingual word learning in children.
Ms. Betancourt has taught
several undergraduate courses including Anatomy & Physiology of the Speech and
Hearing Mechanisms, Introduction to Clinical Processes, and Introduction to
Speech Disorders. In addition to teaching courses, Ms. Betancourt is an intern
